Later, on the evening of January 29th, I happened to be speaking at our prayer meeting and Christian's father John 'Gungie' Rivera was visiting. He graciously
accepted an invitation to pray for him and Christian. I made it my business to pray, email and call to lend support. I received an email yesterday that young Christian lost his battle with Pontine Glioma. I never had the privilege of meeting the little boy I often prayed for but my theology informs me that I'll get to meet him someday!
My prayers go out to John, Chris's mom and the entire family at this time - with two small boys, I can't even imagine!
