Do you see what I see?

"Those who have abandoned themselves to God always lead mysterious lives and receive from him exceptional and miraculous gifts by means of the most ordinary, natural and chance experiences in which there appears to be nothing unusual. The simplest sermon, the most banal conversations, the least erudite books become a source of knowledge and wisdom to these souls by virtue of God's purpose. This is why they carefully pick up the crumbs which clever minds tread under foot, FOR TO THEM EVERYTHING IS PRECIOUS AND A SOURCE OF ENRICHMENT.
- Jean-Pierre De Caussade
The Sacrament of the Present Moment.

When I was kid I NEVER slept on long trips because I was afraid I was going to miss something. Not much has changed at 32 years of age. I still don't want to miss anything. As busy and intense as life has become, I have tried to develop and maintain a habit I call 'driving with my foot on the brakes'!

I understand we have to move, we have to work, we have to grind, we have to do life BUT for me it is the greatest travesty to 'miss' God ordained sign posts along the way intended to give us what we need for life's journey. Life is so much better for me when I have those aha moments with a line from a song, that moment in the movie, a thought from blog, a memory that makes me laugh or cry. I pity the person who spends a lifetime running only to discover what he/she was chasing could never compare to moments missed. Make today a 'life...on purpose day' - purpose to look for God and be sensitive to the people, places and things around you - He might speak to you from the most unlikely source! Look around - Do you see what I see?
